New Construction

New Build, Thoughtfully Designed from scratch

Burlingame, California

2023–2025

For this newly built family residence in Burlingame, GSID worked closely with the architect and general contractor, Ridgeway Construction, to create a home where refined design, thoughtful functionality, and everyday living come together naturally.

Our involvement began in fall 2023, with a focus on the home’s interior layouts and circulation. Every space was carefully considered around how the family would live, move, and interact within their home.

From the kitchen and bathrooms to the custom cabinetry throughout the house, GSID developed a cohesive interior vision, guiding the selection of materials, finishes, and architectural details. We also accompanied the clients through furniture selections, helping them create interiors that complemented the architecture while reflecting their personal style.

Where design meets construction

A successful project is as much about collaboration as it is about design.

Working alongside the highly efficient team at Ridgeway Construction, GSID played an active role in coordinating design decisions throughout the construction process. Anticipating material selections, managing decision timelines, and staying ahead of product lead times were essential to supporting the construction schedule and keeping everything moving smoothly.

With eight years of previous experience as a General Contractor, Geraldine brought both a designer’s eye and a practical understanding of construction to the project—helping bridge the gap between creative vision and execution.

“Great design is built on trust, thoughtful decisions, and the right people working together.”

What made this project particularly rewarding was the relationship built along the way. From the first design discussions in fall 2023 to the family’s move-in in December 2025, it was a wonderful partnership rooted in trust, open communication, and a shared commitment to getting the details right.

The result is a warm, contemporary family home defined by clean lines, natural materials, thoughtful details, and spaces designed to evolve with the people who live in them.

More than anything, this project reflects what GSID believes in: beautiful design, thoughtful execution, and genuine relationships that make the entire journey just as meaningful as the finished home.
